Smoke & Mirrors EP Studio Session

Smoke & Mirrors EP

Done.

Guitar Gear

I’m somewhat of a guitar nerd, tone hound, whatever you’d like to call it, so I thought I’d post here what my current rig is:

Guitar

Fender American Deluxe Sunset Metallic Stratocaster (2010)

Brian May Red Special Replica Model (2005)

Martin DX1RAE Model (2011)

Amplifier

Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 Combo

Pedals (in signal chain from amp to guitar)

Keeley Katana Clean Boost

Ibanez Tube Screamer TS808

Marshall Bluesbreaker Mark 1 Original

Boss TU-3 Tuner

Way Huge Aqua Puss Analog Delay (in the effects loop)

I use Ernie Ball .010 Regular Slinkys for electrics and Elixer Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze strings for acoustics, as well as Dunlop .73mm plectrums. All cables are Fender Custom Shop.

.. to be continued.

Dan Gilliver Acoustic

Debut EP

Very quiet on here at the moment, all building up to some more important things going on. Last summer, I recorded two original tracks with a great band and since then I haven’t had much to do with them. I’ve today decided to head back into the same studio with the same band to record one further song. To accompany this, I’m going to record a whole lot of live acoustic tunes and use the best sounding one to make my debut EP. It’s going to be four tracks in length and showcase all the different styles of music I enjoy playing and writing. It should bring everything I’ve written over the past 5 or so years up to date with 2013. Hopefully a release date to be confirmed for the end of the year.

Plans are being laid.

A live video Alex and I shot a couple of weeks ago outside the Military Museum in Winchester. The song is called ‘Second Chance’, and it was written about two years ago.

Filmed and edited by Alex Andrews.
